ACA-900 Jira Software Essentials

Atlassian announced in September 2023 a new tier of certifications, the Atlassian Certified Associate. Now, there are two plus one Certification Types:

  • Atlassian Certified Associate (new)
These are entry-point certifications into the ecosystem, intended as your first credentials while you become skilled in different Atlassian products. The exams are designed for beginner to intermediate learners. PSI also does the third-party exam proctoring for the new exams onsite or remotely.
  • Atlassian Certified Professional
Role-based Certifications that reflect and validate your expertise & require product experience and studying.
  • Atlassian Certified Expert
The highest and elite standing requires multiple credentials. More in my post “Becoming an Atlassian Certified Expert“.

The first Atlassian Certified Associate exam and certification is the Jira Software Essentials ACA-900 or ACA-JSWE, published at the end of September 2023. There is a free On-Demand Training at Atlassian University as “Jira Software Essentials Certification Prep” covering many topics.

Jira Users in roles such as Developer, Product Owner, or Scrum Master can power with this certification their career by proving they have basic Jira knowledge.

Topics

The exam covers these entry-level topic areas:

  • Basic Concepts – 28%
  • Jira Navigation – 16%
  • Working with Issues – 44%
  • Issue Lifecycle, Workflow, and Boards – 12%

I took the exam in the first days of October, and my questions covered, for example the responsibilities of different Scrum roles & Kanban Basics. Of course, most of the exam questions covered how to use search, dashboards, issue types, links & mentions in Jira. I also like the Idea at this level to make people aware of the different Jira project types (company-managed and team-managed).

  4. With havin so much written content do you ever run into any problems of plagorism or copyright infringement? My website has a lot of exclusive content I’ve either written myself or outsourced but it looks like a lot of it is popping it up all over the web without my permission. Do you know any solutions to help protect against content from being ripped off? I’d genuinely appreciate it.

  5. Great blog! Do you have any tips and hints for aspiring writers? I’m planning to start my own blog soon but I’m a little lost on everything. Would you recommend starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I’m completely overwhelmed .. Any suggestions? Appreciate it!

  6. I am curious to find out what blog system you have been using? I’m experiencing some minor security problems with my latest website and I’d like to find something more risk-free. Do you have any suggestions?

  7. Hey there! Do you know if they make any plugins to help with SEO? I’m trying to get my blog to rank for some targeted keywords but I’m not seeing very good success. If you know of any please share. Cheers!

  8. In the great scheme of things you secure an A+ for hard work. Where exactly you actually lost us was on your particulars. You know, it is said, details make or break the argument.. And that couldn’t be more true at this point. Having said that, permit me say to you just what did do the job. The text is certainly highly powerful and that is probably the reason why I am making an effort to opine. I do not make it a regular habit of doing that. 2nd, despite the fact that I can easily notice the leaps in reasoning you come up with, I am definitely not convinced of how you appear to unite the points which make the conclusion. For right now I will subscribe to your point however hope in the future you link the dots better.
